In my series LIMINAL REALMS, I am exploring a transitional place … the space between space. The inspiration for this series began with a dream I had about the sacred feminine. The meaning of the dream was revealed to me through a metaphorical language of symbols and motifs that elicited more of a felt sense than a literal interpretation. The painting “Rebirth” is a symbolic portrayal of the creative potential of the feminine nature.

The focus of this series is to unveil the continuous presence of the mystery of life. Each painting begins with multiple layers of paint applied, obscured, and reapplied to the surface creating a visual history. In the paintings a topography or map of our personal and collective unconscious is revealed offering a portal to one’s imagination and potentiality. Each piece invites the viewer to discover their own feelings, stories or memories.

The creation of this series has been a vital and meaningful experience for me during this time of radical change and transition in our world. I have felt the support of a presence greater than myself and a deeper trust in the unknown by allowing each painting to guide me to its meaning and resolution
